I first met Kate when she stopped by the studio in March to chat about maternity and newborn sessions. I love working with mothers-to-be and later meeting their little ones at the studio, and was thrilled to help Kate and her partner Jon record these precious moments in their life.






For the maternity session, Kate chose a pink maternity gown by Ana Brandt, a white top with a fluffy white skirt, and a grey fluffy skirt. We used a baby tiara for several of the belly shots.






The session was simply a dream, the soon-to-be parents were so easy going and relaxed. During the session, we also discovered that Jonathan and I were Westford neighbors years ago! We came away with a lot of beautiful solo images of Kate and several couple poses.



I love the final results - Kate is just gorgeous! I simply cannot wait to meet her little girl soon for the newborn session.

Maternity Session

As a maternity photographer, I like to meet with each client ahead of time to plan the perfect photography experience. So, when this gorgeous mom-to-be contacted me through Instagram for a maternity photo session, we scheduled an in-person consultation at my studio to talk through the entire process.

At our consultation, we discussed everything from the best stage of pregnancy for maternity photos to what expecting parents should bring to the session. The client also chose her favorite outfits from the options I offer. I keep a wide range of pregnancy-friendly dresses available for use in maternity photo sessions: this way, clients don’t have to buy formal maternity outfits that will only be worn once! She particularly liked a white tulle skirt and a sparkling silver gown.

Next, we discussed the best hair and makeup choices to ensure the right look for the session. As any maternity photographer can tell you, maternity photo sessions require more than just your usual daytime makeup! And of course, we didn’t forget about the father-to-be: we reviewed the ideal colors and textures for his outfits that would complement his partner’s outfit.

On the day of our maternity session, mom, dad, and I had a wonderful experience. They were such a personable, cheerful couple - full of jokes and laughter throughout the session! Plus, they both looked so good, it couldn’t have been easier to pose them - truly a maternity photographer’s dream. I would have loved to look this good during my own pregnancy!

After such a successful maternity photo session, I’m very excited to meet and photograph this sweet couple’s baby in just a few short weeks!

Westford MA pregnancy photo-sessions

My client's 3-year old loves her maternity album. He points at her baby bump and says: "Look, look, that's me! That's me in my mommy's belly" :)

Maternity sessions are always fun! I usually suggest scheduling pregnancy shoots when mom is at 32-36 weeks. At this point, she already has beautiful curves but is not yet exhausted and able to pose for an hour with a few changing brakes.

 We keep the studio rather cool, and oftentimes use a large fan to show some fabric or hair movement.

 I am providing maternity gowns for the shoot: all of them are from maternity boutiques, custom-made specifically for maternity photo sessions. Sometimes, we get up to 4 gown changes per session :). Outdoor shoots are also available [per special request], and I would really appreciate having 4-5 weeks notice.
